What to expect?

Following our initial telephone consultation,  I will send you some paperwork ahead of time that you can look at and complete to prepare you for our first session.

Most sessions are 50 minutes long and in the first one we will normally cover

  • any questions you have about therapy

  • the counselling contract

  • some background information about the issues you are experiencing

Thereafter sessions are usually once a week.

To the get the most out of therapy it's important to think about what you really want to get out of it.  It' s also important to be prepared to be open and honest about what you are experiencing and feeling, in order to benefit from therapy. Therapy can be challenging and very rewarding when you start to see steps of progress.

Sometimes life can feel confusing and you may feel like you don't even know where to begin; but by picking up the phone or sending that initial email you have taken the first brave step!
